There’s a rhythm inside every body — and when we come together in community around sound, our nervous systems and hearts begin to settle. Co-hosted with SunDrummer, this drum circle uses the universal language of rhythm to support recovery, emotional balance, and social connection.
Donations are welcomed but never required.

Meet the Expert
Ky Washington has performed and toured in Africa, the Caribbean, and Cuba. Founder and musical director of Manjani African Dance company in San Diego California. Ky has worked in the field of Mental Health since 1975, and has a degree in psychology, certifications in mental health and anger management. To add to his credits, he has used his drum therapy at the Betty Ford Center, Charter Hospital, Bayview Hospital, the San Diego Job Corps ,the Salvation Army's Joan Kroc Center, the World Beat Center of San Diego, the Boys to Men Organization, Veterans, Barrio Logan College and has created therapeutic drum circles in Southern California as well as the Mid-West. Incorporating Tai Chi and meditation. He has also performed with Latin jazz and salsa bands.

SunDrummer brings decades of experience using rhythm and percussion as tools for healing, connection, and emotional balance. Drawing from ancient traditions and modern understanding of mind-body health, SunDrummer creates inclusive, welcoming spaces where people can regulate, release, and reconnect through rhythm.
